Upcoming Events:
Parent Teacher Conferences - Two sets of conferences have been held this year. If you would like to meet for another conference, please let me know. I would be happy to schedule a conference before I go on maternity leave.
Presidents' Day - There will be no school on Monday, February 18, 2008, due to the observation of Presidents' Day.
Read Across the Planet - Our class will be participating in Read Across the Planet in February (02/26/08). We have been partnered with a class in New Jersey, and through a video conference, we will communicate with the other class. Each class will do a short presentation for the other, and we will end with a Q&A session. This activity is designed to create a love for reading and literacy in general. It will be a lot of fun, and I will keep you posted as the details are worked out!
Spring Break! - Spring Break is coming sooner than you think! There will be no school the week of March 17 -21, 2008. School will resume on Monday, March 24, 2008, which will be the start of the 4th quarter.
Recent Events:
Field Trip - Our first field trip took place on Thursday, November 8th. We went to the Arizona Museum of Natural History (formerly the Mesa Southwest Museum) to study the first people of Arizona. This turned out to be an exciting, exhausting trip and fun was had by all! Visit our "Class Photos" page to see a few photos from the trip.
Spelling Bee - Congratulations to all students who participated in the class spelling bee! It took a lot of courage to get up in front of the class for this event. All students involved received a participation award for their efforts! Congrats to Asia and Anna, who came in first and second place, respectively. Asia did her best as our class representative in the school-wide spelling bee. Good job, Asia!
